Historic Venue

Camp Springs Bluegrass Park in Elon, North Carolina, is a historic music landmark with deep roots in American bluegrass culture. Located on Boone Road, the park became widely known in 1969 when legendary promoter Carlton Haney brought his influential bluegrass festival to the Camp Springs community. The event helped shape the multi-day bluegrass festival format that later became a model for music festivals across the country.

Over the years, Camp Springs became known as “hallowed ground” for bluegrass musicians and fans, hosting major artists and drawing generations of music lovers to its rural, open-air setting. The park’s sloping land toward the stage gives it the feel of a natural amphitheater, offering strong sightlines and acoustics for live performances. Today, the property spans roughly 45 acres and includes a fishing pond, stage area, open seating, bathhouse, concession stand, and camping hookups.

After years of decline, Camp Springs Bluegrass Park was revived by new ownership and reopened for its 50th anniversary celebration in 2019, honoring its original legacy while restoring the grounds for a new generation of events. The park continues to serve as a meaningful outdoor venue where music, heritage, camping, and community come together in a setting shaped by decades of cultural history.
